The wood ceramic furniture

The Wood Ceramic Furniture is a collaborative project between cabinetmaker Yoncho Cao and ceramic designer Kesem Yahav, exploring the relationship between wood and clay through contemporary furniture and home accessories.

Launched in 2010, the collection combines handcrafted solid wood and handmade ceramics in a series of limited-edition pieces. Wooden furniture is complemented by ceramic details, while ceramic objects incorporate wooden elements, creating a dialogue between the two materials.

Inspired by the clean lines and timeless aesthetics of 1950s and 1960s furniture, the collection focuses on simple geometric forms, functional design, and carefully balanced proportions. Bold accents of coloured glaze add a playful twist and bring character to each piece.

Developed through a close creative partnership, the project reflects our shared interest in craftsmanship, material exploration, and thoughtful design. By bringing together the warmth of wood and the tactile qualities of clay, we created a collection that celebrates the contrast and harmony between two traditional materials.
